Existing Partnership

The Living in Sustainable Villages Project is run by 5 German ecovillages. It was started two years ago.

Needs and purpose

The aim is to get rural communities involved in transformational processes towards sustainable villages through conversations with representatives of ecovillages in the same region.They list common problems of villages and raised interest to address those.


Examples of projects:

  • Working with farmers to change to permaculture
  • Sustainable transport systems
  • Working on community building

Degign state and collaboration proposal

  • The project is going in a second round.
  • The project shows the need for documentation and wants to mobilize students and researchers for that.
  • The project wants to improve their understanding of where the knowledge needs are.
  • Has insprired the Moray Ecovillage Development:A Model for Sustainable Community Building in Scotland.
