SDG16 - Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

UNDP SDG16 official page [1]

"The indicators for SDG 16 'peace, justice and strong institutions' show that life in the EU has become safer over the past few years: deaths due to homicide or assault and the perceived occurrence of crime, violence and vandalism in European neighbourhoods have both fallen considerably over the past few years. In addition, the decline in citizens' confidence in EU institutions observable since 2000 has come to a halt, with slight gains in trust levels for the main EU bodies since 2011. However, trends cannot be calculated for other SDG 16 issues, such as perceived independence of the justice system and perceived corruption." ( 2017:16)
