Sustainable Cities are increasingly being seen as a solution to climate change, global warming and social issues such as world hunger and poverty, especially after the creation of the Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities, one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Some argue that the Sustainable Cities concept does not go far enough and suggest Regenerative Cities and Ecocities as alternatives, while Degrowth and Post Growth advocates point out that the SDGs are still based on problematic issues of continual growth.
