Content Proposal

Hi Tom, was considering having the first and overview paragraph in these pages to be the ones mentioned in the Community-led initiatives and the Sustainable Development Goals page. You believe we can do it? --Gil Penha-Lopes (talk) 16:18, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

It's not clear to me what you are suggesting. Can you clarify? See also my comment below on links with the CLIs and GHGs page. --Tom Henfrey (talk) 13:49, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Interesting articles

Satterthwaite, D., 2011. Editorial: Why is community action needed for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation? Environ. Urban. 23, 339–349.

Collective action

  • (Bamberg et al., 2015)

Values, Motivations and Background Howell, R., Allen, S., 2016. People and planet: Values, motivations and formative influences of individuals acting to mitigate climate change. Environ. Values.

Key strategies:

  • Concrete mitigation measures and their effects (reductions in per capita GHG emissions
  • Independence from carbon-intensive centralised infrastructures (and creation of alternatives to these)
  • Attention to general resilience
  • Specific climate adaptation measure

Kassel studies of carbon footprints of ecovillages (must be more data)

Should mention possible trade-offs of long- and short-term solutions, and risk of short-termism locking in transition pathways that are less promising long-term (PATHWAYS project - long-term benefits of sustained support for CLIs compared with more centralised trajectories)

Also need to look at a wider range of studies. There's crossover with Contributions_of_community-led_initiatives_to_GHG_reductions so text could be linked, copied, adapted or transcluded. I'd here give an overview of key strategies and achievements contextualised in relation to SDG13 itslef, and add a link to that page, which will include more quantitative information. --Tom Henfrey (talk) 13:49, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
