The Trial eco-citizen project was initiated by the environmental management research unit of Liege University, which has a focus on studying sustainability transitions through transdisciplinary research and citizen science. Researchers stimulate the creation of cross-sector networks and facilitate citizen forums in which citizens decide on the key topics of interest/importance, which researchers will then focus on. It takes a Multi-partner network governance approach that is intended to lead lead to establishment of a permanent eco-citizen institute as a cross-sector interface organisation.
